view (actually that should be 'content manager's view')
The initial idea that led to this website was the need to have an accessible
race results archive. The aim of its design was to provide easy access
to information for members of the Caesarean Cycling Club and make it
quick and easy for me (a reluctant and non-technical updater) to maintain.
It's not that exciting, in fact, it's not the least bit exciting and
after the first few pages were produced every page since has been based
on a single, simple template. After six years, it's looking a bit (well,
ok then, a lot) dated but I don't have the time, skill or the inclination
to make any structural changes. (That said, I tinkered with the header
in early 2006 so pages before that have a different look and feel but
the structure is exactly the same).
What really makes
this site come together are the people who provide its content and it is they
who make the site what it is – I just push a few buttons.
