The club organises events out of the island and those we expect to be taking part in during 2006 are shown here - that said, we're a bit short of information at the moment. Both road and MTB riders ride in these events which generally take place as a 'weekend away'.

There are also a number of more ad-hoc trips to France, usually weekend or day trips and tend to be organised at short(ish) notice to make sure the weather forecast is good. Details normally appear on the home page.

If you're interested in any of the following, talk to either Torty Hubert (499440) , John Gage (864275) or click HERE. Mick Stevenson (CCC member based in Brittany) can provide detailed local information - and accomodation. His number is +33 2.98.93.88.60

Trips for the National 25 and 50 mile time trials are being planned which are likely to be preceded by similar practice events in the UK.

Brittany

The exact dates of the Cyclo Sportifs will be confirmed in January 2006. The racing calendar "La Bretagne Cycliste" will be available towards the end of February 2006 and be obtained from Comite Regional de Bretagne de Cyclisme, 1 Rue du Val Louis, BP 129, 22001, Saint Brieuc, tel: +33 2 96 94 03 29.

In 2005, a new category of racing; Departmental/Cyclo Sport, was introcduced and proved very popular. The races are on closed circuits with distances from 60 to 75km and would be suitable for those who do well in the cyclo sportifs (above). We have the 2005 calendar which shows the wide choice of events available only a short trip away from the island. If you would like to borrow this copy, contact Sam Goulding (info@ccc.je).

Mike Stevenson, being based in Brittany, has more first hand information and advice on both racing and randonnées. He can be contacted on +33 2 98 93 88 60. Or look here.
