Summer Mountain Bike Series 2009

Race 3, Val de la Mare, 9 August 2009

The third and final round of the Lawrence De Gruchy/Caesarean Cycling Club Summer Mountain Bike series took place at Val De La Mare on Sunday 9th August. Fine weather greeted the riders as they lined up to tackle a by now familiar course.

Vet Andy Hull took the holeshot and was never headed on his way to a fine win. Behind Hull, Simon Stead and Rhys Hidrio were battling it out for second with Ian Cabot, fresh from his Trans Alp exploits threatening to take advantage of any mistake.

Further down the field Robert Bochanowski riding in Ocean Tide colours took the win in the Sport Class. Chaz Knight showed the Super Vet field a clean pair of heels to take maximum points. Sole Junior Ben Le Brocq rode well and lone Lady Helene Monpetit rounded off the class winners.

Caesarean Cycling Club would like to than Lawrence De Gruchy for their continuing support, the Landowners for their permission to use the course and Martin Sampson, Sean Le Breuilly, Trevor Betram, Torty Hubert and Gordon Wright for organisation. Report by CK
