Malcolm Armes

Strong winds and heavy rain caused the event to be shortened to 9km (starting as normal at La Pulente but turning at the '5mile' turn). All riders were in agreement and this had nothing whatsoever to do with the force 7 gale head wind up the hill.

Andy Kemp is fastest on the night with Malcolm Armes first Vet literally storming ahead of his rivals.

"Armes springs Amoy Surprize"

VETERAN cyclist Malcolm Armes surprized his fellow competitors in Tuesday night's Caesarean Cycling Club's Amoy TT competition when he stormed into second place in a time of 14 min 52 seconds.

He was just behind winner Andy Kemp who completed the course in 14 min 18 sec. First lady home was Helen Goulding in a time of 16 min 20 sec, beating husband Sam who managed 16 min 25 sec.
