Septuagenarian Briab Ovenden led the field off in the first ever event over a new 25 mile time trial coursed based in deepest St. Ouen. In near perfect warm and calm conditions, especially at the 7:30am start. The field wound its way through St. Ouen, St. Mary and St. John and briefly touched St. Peter and St. Brelade on its journey up and down St. Ouen's bay, before returning to the finish at the L'Etacq junction car park. CCC's Mike Harris started favourite but was pressed hard by club mates Vince Peron and Mark Wunsch with all three being the only riders to achieve 58 minute rides ahead of the duo Dave Mayman and Danny Le Marquand who tied for fourth place with rides a few seconds under the hour.
Thanks to Allan Miller for organising this event. |
