Fastest Vet: Dave Mayman
CCC dominate JCA 25mile time trial
Riders from the Caesarean Cycling Club won all categories of the Jersey Cycling Association's 2007 25 mile time trial held in wet and windy conditions on Sunday.
CCC's Vince Peron won the overall event in an impressive time of 58 minutes and 18 seconds, 26 seconds ahead of Island Games team-mate Chris Spence. This was a good win for Peron in the build up for the Games in Rhodes.
Caesarean riders took the top five places, with in-form Dave Mayman, fourth overall and first veteran home, just seven seconds ahead of club-mate Mike Harris. Robert Coutanche was first junior and CCC's Helen Goulding first lady, placing 16 th and 17 th respectively.
CCC President and former Commonwealth Games cyclist Allan Miller, aged 64, retained the age-adjusted Vets on Standard category with his impressive time of 1:07:34.
Despite the conditions, nearly forty riders took part in the event, which ran over a 25 mile course from St Ouen's Manor to St Martin's Church and back.
