The suggested new '25' course starts opposite the post box set in the wall of the property known as Haut du Bas (i.e. across the road from the start of the new '10' to be used on the 17.05.05), at the top of the climb from St. Ouen's Bay up to the Village. The riders will proceed east to the junction with the main road at the Parlsh Hall and turn left to St. Ouen's cross roads where they'll turn left again and complete the Bal Tab loop (as usual) returning to the cross roads where they'll bear left (as normal) and ride through St. Mary to St. John, and dead turn at the '30' signs at the Church (the road widens to three lane at the junction), and return to St. Ouen's cross roads where they'll turn left and proceed to the starting point for the present '25' at the Manor, and dead turn, returning to the cross roads where again they'll turn left, to the 'Shire Horse Farm' junction, and left again to Hydrangea Av. where right (as per the RR's) and then proceed to ride the new '10' course, which will form the last '10' of the '25'. I know there are one or two question marks---it is a fairly compact course---and means we do not pass through the junctions at Hautes Croix, Trinity, St,Martin or Maufant---the possible awkwardness at the supermarket will be avoided on the way out due to our start times---(and if still seen to be a concern can be monitored until the riders are past)---as we do not return that way and use the tried and tested route via the 'Shire' junction. The dead turns are reasonably clear and sufficiently wide to allow safe use. Riders can give it a try any time when they are out and about and let us have their comments. I had it in mind we had another Sunday '25' to organise---but can't find one on the Calendar?!! If you have any comments, please let Allan Miller have them: president@ccc.je |
