Bal Tabarin Road Race, 14 August 2005

It was a bright and breezy morning for the Caesarean Cycling Clubs 50 mile handicap road race on the Bal Tab circuit. Three groups were set off with 8 minutes between the leaders on the road and the middle group, and 3 minutes extra for the scratch group.

The handicaps worked out well with all the groups merging on the penultimate lap, at the end of which a break of Danny Le Marquand, Vince Peron and Richard Tanguy were just pulling away from the peloton.

They managed to stay out in front and the hotly contested sprint was won by half a wheel by Vince from Danny, with Richard applauding their efforts in third.

Bob Cabot was first vet in fourth place who had managed to also get off the front of the group with Steve Gouaziou and first lady was Jim Davis with Helen Goulding in close attendance.
