2004 AGM
The 2004 Annual General Meeting takes place at 8pm on Wednesday 11 February at the Western Rifle Range, St. Peter. Elections for the club officials will be held so make sure you have your say in how the club is organised by being there. Will take no longer than half an hour after which we'll be popping into the Typsy Toad.

Chris Spence takes a top 20 place in a large international field

National MTB Series (April 2004)
James Patterson gives another strong performance in the UK

Southern Divisional Championships (26may04)
Chris Spence, Sam Firby, Steve Greig and Vince Peron will travel to the UK to compete in the Southern Divisional Championships in Calne. Jersey riders have always flown the flag well at this event in the past with the likes of Tony Cornic gaining a silver medal back in his hay day, Spence has also been placed 3rd twice and will be looking to go a placing or two better. Newcomer Vince Peron will be testing the water in what will probably be his longest Race to date. The course is a testing 90 miles. Greig and Firby are not strangers to this event either, both have ridden well in the past and will also be looking for a medal. With the 2006 Commonwealth Games fast approaching Spence and Firby are keen to gain the selectors eye as a top three placing in this event is a qualifying Ride for the 2006 Commonwealths which are in March of 2006 in Australia, both have previously represented Jersey at The Commonwealth Games.

Women's National 25 mile Time Trial (5jun04)
On an exposed and rolling course near Ash, East Kent (Q25/4), in breezy conditions, 54 women competed for the National 25m TT Championship. Helen Goulding had a disappointing ride posting a time of 1:07:40 - almost four minutes slower than her time in 2003. However, Guernsey's Ann Bowditch had an excellent ride of 1:01:11 and finished 5th overall. The winner was Vicky Pincombe in a time of 57:22

Details of team selection process

Ladies' National Hill Climb Championship (October 2004)
Guernsey's Ann Bowditch is the 2004 National Hill Climb Champion. The race was held over 2.2 miles on the Winter Gibbet climb near Newcastle. Bowditch won by 15 seconds from Catherine Hare in a time of 8 mins 30 seconds.

MTB Open day in aid of Jersey Hospice Care (November 2004)
Under the directorship of expert course designer, Colin Hidrio, a very successful day was enjoyed by riders of all ages trying mountaining biking for the first time. Besides the success of the event, a grand total of £216 was raised for Jersey Hospice care. This is the second time this year the club has raised money for the organisation and a big thank you goes to Colin for generating so much support.
