On a fine and sunny Sunday morning (so different from the usual winter Sunday club runs) over 60 riders turned out in memory of Norman Clayton, a long and respected member of the club, who died in May. There were members from both clubs, jerseys depicting a fair number of the Tour de France teams and even a former world champion. Norman's wife Jean and his daughters, Clare and Jane, were at the start to send us off on a mystery tour kindly led (and organised) by Martin Sampson. It was a fiiting tribute to Norman who was the natural leader of the Sunday club runs for many years so that they came to be known as "Norman's mystery tours". - Norman was always able to surprise even the oldest of our members with a lane that was "new". Amazing in an island so small. As usual, the run ended at North Point Café where a collection of £413.50 was made in memory of Norman to be donated to Jersey Hospice Care.
