| Our president, Allan Miller is inviting riders to consider travelling to the UK to take part in this year's Rudi Project series. Forming a group of riders willing to make the effort to get to these races on the Mainland will ease travel and keep costs per rider low.
And remember, each rider can apply for a travel grant up to £100 to help with the travel costs and entry fees.
The first event Allan is looking at is on Sunday the 29th March on a course near Ashworth in Kent which Mike Harris and he have ridden before when we did the RP series a couple of years back, & the next would be the 26th April in the Leicester area which I think is also a Sunday---and on a course they've also ridden
The last four of the 8 races in the series are in Aug.,(8th), Sept.,(19th), Oct.,(11th.&17th), all of which are within reasonable striking distance of our usual weekend travel range, and are at a time when your form is usually good. If you plan to compete in the series, you need to complete five events.
Normally the arrangement is for a vehicle and riders to go on the Friday night overnight ferry to Portsmouth and then ride one race on the Sat. and a further event on the Sunday morning before returning to the island, generally from Poole in the afternoon---if the timing doesn't suit then the first boat back from Weymouth on the Monday morning is used.
A similar arrangement could be used for the Nat. 25 (06 06 09) and the combined CTT/BC TT champs (06 09 09).
If you're interested, please get in touch with Allan. If you have a question about travel grants, please refer to Colin Perry. | |
